<lj:music>"Whataya Want From Me" by Adam Lambert</lj:music>

Okay, so obviously I freaking adore Adam Lambert. But I'm so excited that "Whataya Want From Me" is his single now. I don't know what it is about that song, and I'm not sure exactly WHAT it makes me feel, but whatever it is, it's a strong feeling. And I love music that can do that. And there's been so little of it in the past couple of years, especially mainstream music. So yay, more lyrics!

Hey, slow it down
Whataya want from me
Whataya want from me
Yeah, I'm afraid
Whataya want from me
Whataya want from me

There might have been a time when I would give myself away
Oh, once upon a time I didn't give a damn
But now, here we are
So whataya want from me
Whataya want from me

Just don't give up
I'm workin' it out
Please don't give in
I won't let you down
It messed me up
Need a second to breathe
Just keep comin' around
Hey, whataya want from me
Whataya want from me
Whataya want from me

Yeah, it's plain to see
Baby you're beautiful
And there's nothing wrong with you
It's me, I'm a freak
Thanks for lovin' me
Cause you're doin' it perfectly

There might have been a time when I would let you slip away
I wouldn't even try but I think you could save my life

Just don't give up
I'm workin' it out
Please don't give in
I won't let you down
It messed me up
Need a second to breathe
Just keep comin' around
Hey, whataya want from me
Whataya want from me
Whataya want from me

Just don't give up on me
I won't let you down
No, I won't let you down
So

Just don't give up
I'm workin' it out
Please don't give in
I won't let you down
It messed me up
Need a second to breathe
Just keep comin' around
So whataya want from me

Just don't give up
I'm workin' it out
Please don't give in
I won't let you down
It messed me up
Need a second to breathe
Just keep comin' around
Hey, whataya want from me
Whataya want from me
Whataya want from me

<lj:music>I'm watchin' Dancing With The Stars.</lj:music>

I was all excited that there were only 6 performances tonight because I figured the show would only be an hour long. Silly me, of course they had to give each couple two performances and drag it out to two hours. Gah. Also, I wanted to slit my wrists when they were showing Idol commercials every five minutes. Anyway...

ELLENORE & RYAN
Style: Lindy hop
Choreographer: Missed it
Song: "I've Got To Be a Rug Cutter"
7/10

KATHRYN & LEGACY
Style: Jazz
Choreographer: Sonya Tayeh
Song: "So Deep"
6/10

KAREN & VICTOR
Style: Tango
Choreographer: Tony Meredith & Melanie LaPatin
Song: "Montserrat"
8/10

MOLLEE & NATHAN
Style: Hip hop
Choreographer: Jamal Sims
Song: "Ring-A-Ling"
8/10

NOELLE & RUSSELL
Style: Samba
Choreographer: Tony Meredith & Melanie LaPatin
Song: "Hips Don't Lie"
7/10

ASHLEIGH & JAKOB
Style: Lyrical jazz
Choreographer: Sonya Tayeh
Song: "Time Flies"
10/10

ELLENORE & RYAN
Style: Broadway
Choreographer: Spencer Liff
Song: "Razzle Dazzle"
10/10

KATHRYN & LEGACY
Style: Viennese waltz
Choreographer: Jean Marc Genereux
Song: "Your Guardian Angel"
9/10

KAREN & VICTOR
Style: Jazz
Choreographer: Laurieann Gibson
Song: "Moving Mountains"
6/10

MOLLEE & NATHAN
Style: Cancan
Choreographer: Tyce Diorio
Song: "Cancan Suite"
5/10

NOELLE & RUSSELL
Style: Contemporary
Choreographer: Tyce Diorio
Song: "A Case Of You"
9/10

ASHLEIGH & JAKOB
Style: Cha cha
Choreographer: Jean Marc Genereux
Song: "Cha Cha Heels"
9/10

MY FAVORITES:
Ashleigh & Jakob

WHO I THINK SHOULD BE THE BOTTOM THREE COUPLES:
Kathryn & Legacy
Mollee & Nathan
Karen & Victor

WHO I THINK SHOULD BE ELIMINATED:
Karen
Nathan

Definitely not going to like this season as much as I did the last one, especially now that my early favorite, Billy Bell, has left the competition. Damn it.

Also, the judges just proved they're no better at sending home the right people than the viewers are.

JUDGES:
Nigel Lythgoe
Mary Murphy
Adam Shankman

CHANNING & PHILLIP
Style: Jive
Choreographer: Jason Gilkison
Song: "Rockin' Robin"
6/10

ASHLEIGH & JAKOB
Style: Broadway
Choreographer: Tyce Diorio
Song: "Hit Me With a Hot Note (And Watch Me Bounce)"
8/10

ARIANA & PETER
Style: Hip hop
Choreographer: Tabitha & Napoleon
Song: "Black & Gold"
6/10

RUSSELL
Style: Foxtrot
Choreographer: Tony Meredith & Melanie LaPatin
Song: "Vagabond Shoes"
7/10

BIANCA & VICTOR
Style: Contemporary
Choreographer: Travis Wall
Song: "Wasted Time"
9/10

KAREN & KEVIN
Style: Cha cha
Choreographer: Tony Meredith & Melanie LaPatin
Song: "Push It"
7/10

ELLENORE & RYAN
Style: Contemporary jazz
Choreographer: Sonya
Song: "Arcadia"
9/10

PAULINE & BRANDON
Style: Smooth waltz
Choreographer: Jason Gilkison
Song: "You Light Up My Life"
7/10

KATHRYN & LEGACY
Style: Hip hop
Choreographer: Dave Scott
Song: "On & On"
9/10

MOLLEE & NATHAN
Style: Disco
Choreographer: Doriana Sanchez
Song: "Turn The Beat Around"
10/10

MY FAVORITES:
Bianca & Victor
Ellenore & Ryan
Kathryn & Legacy
Mollee & Nathan

MY BOTTOM THREE COUPLES:
Channing & Phillip
Ariana & Peter
Pauline & Brandon

IN DANGER OF ELIMINATION:
Ariana
Brandon
Pauline
Russell

SOLOS:
Ariana: 7/10
Russell: 3/10
Pauline: 5/10
Brandon: 8/10

WHO I THOUGHT SHOULD BE ELIMINATED:
Pauline
Russell

ELIMINATED:
Ariana
Brandon

Not a whole lot to say this week, since it was the traditional "Walk in, get results, walk out and either cry or celebrate" episode that we always dread and always very nearly fall asleep halfway through. But, suffice it to say, we didn't see a whole lot of big surprises. Well, besides Paula's making it to the top 20, but then turning it down because she was offered a movie contract. We feel like that may not have been the most intelligent career move ever, but it's good news for Ashleigh and Ryan anyway, since now they'll be able to be in the top 20 together.

So, here are this season's top 10 girls:
Channing
Kathryn
Ariana
Ellenore
Bianca
Mollee
Noelle
Pauline
Karen
Ashleigh

And the top 10 guys:
Nathan
Russell
Billy
Jakob
Kevin
Phillip
Victor
Peter
Legacy
Ryan

So You Think You Can Dance: Vegas Week Part 2

    <lj:music>I'm watchin' Glee.</lj:music>

It's time for the second half of Vegas week, and already, more than half of the original 152 dancers to make it this far have been cut. 77 dancers are left to take on Laurieann Gibson's jazz choreography.

Karen and Matthew were the first married couple to make it to Vegas together. Unfortunately, their streak does not continue. Karen makes it to the next round, but Matthew is cut. But thankfully for Matthew, he's not alone- the jazz round is a bit of a mess for the majority of the dancers. Nigel calls people on their sloppiness numerous times.

Mollee and Russell, two dancers we've met before, are in the next group to perform. Everyone makes it through, but Nigel tells Mollee she dances like a little girl and needs to step it up. The judges praise Russell for his technique, considering his lack of training. Unbeknownst to the judges, Mollee injures herself during the performance. She tries to keep it hidden, but the pain gets worse and she's sent to the hospital.

At the end of the jazz round, 69 dancers remain and they're split into groups. They'll be expected to choreograph a piece for a randomly chosen piece of music overnight, and perform it first thing in the morning. Drama ensues, but thankfully we're not forced to sit through the majority of it.

The first group to perform in the morning includes Russell and four contemporary dancers. They're performing a Broadway number, which seems an odd fit- but it works really well. The judges are very impressed and everyone makes it to the next round.

The next group to perform is Mollee's. She returns from the hospital two hours into rehearsal, only to discover that her group has choreographed around her injury and left her sitting in a chair throughout most of the piece. She's not happy about that, so they end up starting over at midnight. The idea is creative, but the whole thing comes across as cheesy. Or, as Mia puts it, "stupid and dumb." Really? Is Mia in second grade? That's the best critique she can come up with? We're annoyed. But anyway, the whole group gets another chance and makes it to the next round.

Next is Mia's contemporary round. Kicking things off is hip hop dancer Kevin, who blows the judges away. He sets the bar high for the other hip hop dancers, but everyone seems to handle it well.

The next group includes Legacy, who's only still here because he danced for his life yesterday and earned another chance from the judges. We don't think he's very believable with Mia's choreography, but the judges enjoy it. Mia calls him "perfectly imperfect."

At this point, over 100 dancers have been sent home. The few who remain are now faced with Tyce Diorio's Broadway choreography. This time, the guys and girls are split into two groups and taught different routines.

One of the dancers in the first group, Pauline, made it to the very last cut last season. She's hoping to make it all the way this season, but she falls and injures herself during the performance. She's off to the hospital.

Next we catch up with Ashley DeLello, a ballroom dancer who auditioned with her husband. He outdid her during their audition, and he's continued to do so all week. Our biggest critique of her is that she should start dancing more with her body and less with her face. The judges think she's vastly improved, though, and she makes it to the next round.

At the end of the girls' choreography round, 17 of them remain. Pauline is back from the hospital. She has a bad sprain and has been told to stay off it for two days, so she'll find out later what the judges want to do with her.

Now it's time for the guys to take on Tyce's choreography. Ashley's husband Ryan is in the first group, and he impresses all of the judges... with his open shirt. This annoys us, because Dmitry Chaplin was given no end of crap for doing the same thing. He makes it to the next round, and we suppose it's got at least something to do with his dance, but we hope he doesn't continue to show off his body in an effort to win votes.

Another former auditioner, Dominic, is in the next group. We really like him and we're rooting for him... until we see him dance. He's way off, and he's over-cheesing everything to try to compensate for his lack of dance quality. The judges tell him he's only gotten two votes, and he has a massive breakdown onstage. Nigel tells him off for it, telling him that if he can't even handle this and realize how proud he should be of himself for making it this far, he'll never make it as a dancer.

Six more guys are cut during Tyce's round, leaving a total of 38 dancers at the end of Vegas week. The dancers perform one final solo. A standout during that round is Billy Bell, who reduces Adam Shankman to tears. At the end of this final round of solos, the dancers have done everything they can to make a good impression on all the judges. Next week, we find out who our top 20 will be this season!

    <lj:music>I'm watchin' Glee.</lj:music>

Auditions are over and we're finally in Vegas. Cat tells us once again that we've got more talent this season than ever before- let's see if the contestants live up to that prediction. There are 6 judges for this round- Nigel Lythgoe, Mary Murphy, Tyce Diorio, Mia Michaels, Debbie Allen and Adam Shankman. The choreography is tougher, the judges will expect more, and 152 dancers are in for the fight of their lives.

For the first round, each dancer performs a solo and will not be critiqued by the judges. First up is Nathan Trasora, who auditioned in season 5 but was too young. Nigel gave him a ticket for this season anyway because he was so impressed with his audition. He has good presence and good technique, but he's not terribly unique.

Ellenore Scott says she feels confident, but not cocky. That confidence works well for her- her solo is amazing. She's so unique and quirky! We can see her going really far in the competition. Apparently the judges agree, because in the first group of ten performers, Ellenore and Nathan are both among the 8 dancers who make it to the next round.

In the next round, we catch up with Allison Becker and Thomas Hamilton, whose first auditions we saw earlier in the season. They've both overcome personal obstacles to be here, but unfortunately the first day of Vegas week turns out to be the end of the road for them. By 4 PM, a total of 41 dancers have already been sent home.

The last two contestants in round one are Willem and Jacob, the same sex ballroom couple we met earlier this season. The judges are impressed with Willem, but Jacob is cut. He storms off, upset, and Willem doesn't get a chance to say goodbye. Doesn't seem terribly professional of Jacob.

The judges bring back the remaining dancers at the end of the day. 25% of them have been cut so far, leaving 111 dancers. The next genre will be hip hop, choreographed by Tabitha and Napoleon. Because God forbid there's an episode that doesn't include them.

The first group to tackle hip hop is successful and everyone makes it through. Not the case in the next group, in which breaker Jean is cut. He says he's going to practice and try again next season. He's not the only one- hip hop proves too difficult for 21 dancers.

Ryan Kasprzak has a hard time with hip hop, and gets a 3/3 split from the judges. It's enough to keep him in the running, but the judges tell him to really bring it in the next round or he'll be cut.

At the beginning of day two, 90 dancers remain for the ballroom round. It's choreographed by Louis Van Amstel. Right off the bat, Billy Bell gets accidentally elbowed in the face by his partner and has to miss out on most of rehearsal because he's not allowed back onstage until the bleeding stops.

Russell and Iveta are an unlikely couple, but they tackle the style extremely well and get a standing ovation from Adam Shankman. Everyone in their group makes it to the next round.

Meanwhile, Billy Bell has recovered and is back with his partner to take on the ballroom round. Unfortunately, he hasn't had a chance to rehearse with music. But that doesn't seem to hurt him much, and he makes it to the next round, along with Amber Jackson. Another member of this group, Legacy, is asked to dance for his life later in the day.

Ryan Kasprzak is back for the next round. Sadly, it does not go well and the judges send him home. This hurts, since he was an early favorite and we were really looking forward to seeing him in the top 20.

Finally, a few dancers come back to give their solo one more shot and convince the judges that they belong in the competition. John Litzler does not do enough and is sent home, but the judges enjoy Legacy's performance. He'll be sticking around for another round.

There are 77 dancers left, and next week they'll face more Vegas rounds.

    <lj:music>"Hollaback Girl" by Gwen Stefani</lj:music>

Finally, this is the last night of auditions. This time around, we're back in Salt Lake City with judges Nigel Lythgoe, Mary Murphy and Mia Michaels.

Bryan Boyer is up first. Yay, another breaker. But... wait! He's a unique breaker! That doesn't happen often. We have to wonder if he can do anything else, though- and apparently so do the judges. Bryan is sent to the choreography round.

Next is Tristy Mirci, who says she's been in 25 accidents in the last three years. But not to worry, she wasn't driving in any of them! Uhh... wow. That's quite a track record. Turns out it's far more impressive than her dancing. Watching her dance is kind of like seeing a 5-year-old's first recital. It's a no for Tristy.

Hayley Cloud herniated a disc in her back, and managed to recover, and she's still dancing. Dancing very well, we might add! And she's a lot of fun to watch, great personality. We hope she does well in Vegas, where she's headed. And it seems Hayley has started a trend- the next several girls make it to Vegas as well.

Ariana Rowley is next. She's a burlesque performer. Really? We'd be shocked if she's good. And... we're not shocked. She does a pseudo-striptease and Nigel is the only judge impressed. And we're pretty sure that's only because he's a guy. But somehow, Ariana makes it to the choreography round anyway.

Next is Iveta Lukosiute from Lithuania. She's very graceful and has a commanding stage presence. She'd have to screw up pretty badly to not do well in Vegas. We look forward to seeing more from her.

During the choreography round at the end of day one, Bryan quits the competition. Apparently we were right- he can't do anything besides breaking. Well, maybe next year. Not surprisingly, Ariana is also cut.

Day two starts with Pascal, who tells us he dances according to what the song tells him to do. Oh, great. This ought to be a nice train wreck. Nigel sums it up well: "First it was a bad case of food poisoning, then you were bitten by a tsetse fly, then you were just shaking all over the place." Yeah, pretty much. It's a no for Pascal, who nonetheless proclaims his immense talent as he leaves.

After another montage of couples dancing together, we meet married couple Ashleigh and Ryan Di Lello, who competed against each other when they first met and dance together now. They're both good, but Ashleigh comes across as quite contrived in her performance. They're fun to watch as a couple, though, and they both make it to the choreography round.

Leigh Asay and Josh Murillo also audition together. Bad news for Josh, because Leigh far outshines him. She also manages to rip off her toenail during her audition, but despite that she makes it to Vegas. Josh is asked to come back for the choreography round.

During the choreography round, Josh is cut. But it's good news for Ashleigh and Ryan- they're both going to Vegas!

Tomorrow night, 152 dancers take on the Vegas round. Cat says it's the best year yet- we'll see.

So You Think You Can Dance: New Orleans Auditions

    <lj:music>I'm watchin' Glee.</lj:music>

The fifth stop on this year's audition tour is in New Orleans. Nigel Lythgoe was not able to join us this time around because he was in England accepting an honorary doctorate, so tonight's judges are Mary Murphy, Adam Shankman and... Lil C again. Ack.

Shelby Skipper has been dancing since he was 7 or 8, and for today's audition he'll be dancing a style invented by his best friend- New Orleans bounce. It's unique, but it gets old fast and we're not terribly impressed. For some reason, though, the judges send him straight to Vegas.

Jonathan Litzler has great strength and shows his emotion well. This is what a good, strong performance is about- good balance between technique and the ability to capture an audience. The judges are really impressed, and he goes straight to Vegas. It's also good news for Alison Nance, Calvin Turner Jr., and Edward Spots, who are all also on the way to Vegas.

Next is Eric La Blanc, who tells us he drinks six energy drinks a day. It shows. He's really freakin' annoying. Also, he's just another hip hop dancer doing the same stuff we've seen a million times before. The judges put him through to the choreography round.

After a montage of more good dancers (we could get used to seeing this many), it's time to meet Justin Kenney. He was in a car accident, flipped four or five times and suffered head trauma. And yet, he's still dancing. Once again, it's nothing we haven't seen before, but he's likeable and we're glad the judges decide to give him a second chance during the choreography round. He makes it to Vegas during that round, but Eric does not. Can't say we're disappointed.

Kimalee Piedad auditions with her partner, though he is not here to try to make it on the show. Their lifts are amazing and they're a lot of fun to watch. The judges put Kimalee through to the choreography round.

Next up is Micah Mixon, another hip hop dancer. Well, sort of. He kind of looks like he's having a seizure. Once he gets into it he's not too bad, but can he do anything else? The judges apparently wonder the same thing, and they send him to choreography.

Lloyd Ballard, Tierney St. John and Casey Crisosto are all terrible, which inspires Adam and Mary to lay down some rules. Which, of course, no one follows. But Adam's demonstations of what NOT to do are hilarious, anyway.

Jakob Karr has a very commanding presence and great talent. We can see him going far. And we hope he does, because we love watching him. He makes it straight to Vegas, not surprisingly.

The final auditioner of the night is Diana Drexler. Her grandfather passed away the day before her audition, and she's been keeping in touch with her family since then. She gets through the audition very well, and she's very engaging. The judges send her to the choreography round, and then on to Vegas. The same does not go for Micah, who's cut during the last round.

Next week, the final audition stop in Salt Lake City!

So You Think You Can Dance: Atlanta Auditions

<lj:music>"I Know You Want Me (Calle Ocho)" by Pitbull</lj:music>

Our destination for tonight's auditions is Atlanta. We're joined by Nigel Lythgoe, Mary Murphy, and... ugh... Lil C. Should be a long hour.

Billy Bell is the first auditioner of the evening. He's been dancing for five years- something he started after seeing a hip hop show. It turned out he was terrible at hip hop, so he started learning... everything else. Good idea, because his audition is great. The judges agree and send him straight to Vegas.

Next is Amber Jackson, who at first reminds us a bit of Martha from season 2. She's got great technique and absolutely NO personality, and Nigel calls her on it. It's no fun to watch someone who looks like they'd rather be having a root canal. She even goes so far as to say she wasn't performing for anyone. Well, at least she knows. The judges send her to the choreography round to see if she can improve her performance quality.

After a montage of more people with no performance skills whatsoever, we meet Travis Denison, who we remember from his days (day?) as a contestant on The Wade Robson Project. Turns out he hasn't improved at all since then. He's entertaining, but in a lovable geek kind of way. Not something this show is looking for, and the judges send him home.

Jamal Jackson and Victor Smalley both bring some really good auditions, and they both make it to Vegas. We look forward to seeing more from them, especially Victor.

Twin brothers Anthony and Antwain Hart are back after being cut at a past season's audition. We remember them, and boy, have they improved! That's what this show is all about. They do a great job, but for some reason the judges ask them to come back for the choreography round.

During Pasha and Anya's choreography round, Amber and Anthony make it to Vegas. Antwain, however, is cut. It's always hard to see siblings get separated, but we hope Antwain comes back next year and tries again.

Day two begins with Matthew "Boogie Nights" Pollard. More boring popping that looks the same no matter who does it, but since there has to be at least one every year, the judges send him through to the choreography round.

Next is Jessica Jansen, who only has one hand as the result of having had sarcoma in her palm. She dances well, but truth be told, the missing hand is a bit of a distraction. That wouldn't keep us from voting for her during the competition if she danced well, though, and the judges decide to send her to the choreography round and see what else she can do.

Jonathan Bryant immediately starts in with the "Look at me, I'm amazing" act. We groan in boredom, because these people are ALWAYS bad. He's no exception. When the judges tell him he's bad, he fights with them. When he realizes fighting isn't getting him anywhere, he cries instead. He goes home anyway.

After a montage of more people being cut, it's time for the last audition of the night. Thomas Hamilton was born to a drug addict mother and raised by his aunt. He says he feels there's nothing for him in his hometown and he needs to get out of it. There's a lot of raw emotion in his dancing, and we like that. We're not sure he'll be able to handle the competition, but the judges ask him to stay for the choreography round, and we're rooting for him.

During the choreography round for day two, Matthew and Jessica are both cut... but it's good news for Thomas. He's going to Vegas!

Tomorrow night, the auditions are coming from New Orleands for the first time in SYTYCD history!

So You Think You Can Dance: Phoenix auditions

    <lj:music>I'm watchin' Glee.</lj:music>

Tonight, we're in Phoenix for another round of auditions. The judges are Nigel Lythgoe, Mary Murphy and Mia Michaels.

First up tonight are Biggie Bargas and Shorty Smallwood. We don't expect much, but they actually turn out to be quite entertaining. They'd never make it in Vegas, but their audition was fun anyway. The judges give them the benefit of the doubt and send them to the choreography round.

Sasha Mallory is very unique and has great control over her movement. Apparently the judges agree- she's sent straight to Vegas. Same goes for Katie Muth and Ellie Soto.

Now it's time to meet Allison Becker, who was diagnosed with spinal meningitis when she was 16 months old. As a result, she's deaf now, but still manages to dance. Very well, in fact. The judges put her through to the choreography round.

Willem de Vries and Jacob Jason are only the second same sex ballroom couple to audition for the show- and the first ones were cut last season. These two, however, are really good. The judges ask them to come back for the choreography round.

Jonathan Noronha is entertaining, but that's about it. If there were such a thing as comedic dance, he'd probably be great at that- but he's certainly not right for this show. It's a no.

Now it's time for day one's choreography round with Pasha and Anya. Biggie calls it quits when he can't do the choreography, and his friend Shorty is cut soon after that. Allison, Jacob and Willem all make it to Vegas.

First on day two is Jarvis Johnson, who has the most annoying scream ever. He can't dance, and he's obnoxious, and we'd probably slit our wrists if we had to put up with him every week. But for some strange reason, the judges send him to the choreography round.

It's really obvious that Brandon Gordon and Nicole Peterson are just trying to get on TV, and it annoys us that the show let them get away with that. But at least it's not long before they get a no and we're no longer subjected to their "dancing." Unfortunately, we're then forced to sit through a montage of more bad dancing.

Kelsey White's boring dancing is nicely complemented by her boring choice of music. Nothing about her stands out, but the judges decide to put her through to the choreography round.

The last audition of the night comes from Legacy, who says he started dancing at age 15 and learned his craft on the street. He's a good breaker, but nothing we haven't seen before. The judges send him straight to Vegas anyway. Guess there has to be at least one every year.

The choreography round for day two turns out to be too much for Jarvis. He collapses and has to leave the competition. Thank God for small miracles. Kelsey is also cut, but a total of five dancers make it to Vegas.

Next week, the Boston auditions.

I never really saw the appeal of him during the TV show, but having seen all his bubble tweets over the summer, and after seeing how impressive he was on the tour (which is saying a lot since the majority of them sucked)... I will definitely be continuing to follow his career.

Gokey, on the other hand, tries way too hard.

<lj-embed id="27" />

Idol tour was kind of a waste of my life. And I don't just mean the standing outside to no avail AGAIN- the show wasn't all that great either, as a whole. Meh.

Don't even really find it worth posting about. I did get autographs from everyone except Adam, Kris and Anoop, but the only one who really talked to people besides "Hi" was Scott. Fans out by the buses tonight were ass faces as well, not to mention the bitch behind me who I almost punched out because she kept screaming at people in front of her to sit down... when the only reason we were standing, was because everyone in front of us was, therefore we couldn't see. She actually grabbed my arm once and I came very dangerously close to turning around and punching her in the face. I was really pissed by that point anyway.

Just, not a good day. The show was like, 6.5 out of 10. Besides Adam, only ones I was all that impressed with were Scott, Anoop and Matt. Only saw one song of Kris's set because I went out to the buses- which was also a waste of my time.

I have a few pics from the buses and a handful from the show, but I'm not sure how well any of them came out. I took a lot of videos too, and I'm hoping they came out fairly decently.

Meh. I should have stayed home and NOT wasted my day off.

So You Think You Can Dance: Los Angeles auditions

    <lj:music>I'm watchin' Glee.</lj:music>

It seems we were just watching the finale of last season a few weeks ago... oh, wait. We were. Oh well, bring on season 6! Tonight we're in Los Angeles for another round of auditions. The judges are Adam Shankman, Mary Murphy and Nigel Lythgoe.

Cole Clemens is the first person we meet tonight, and he's weird. He auditions without music. And he doesn't really dance, just throws himself around and chants occasionally. It's bad. He's sent packing.

Next is Mollee Gray, who was a principal dancer in all three High School Musical movies. She's recently moved to LA to pursue more auditions, and she's really good. She's sent straight to Vegas. The same fate awaits the three dancers after her.

A couple of familiar faces are next- Bianca Revels and Ryan Kasprzak. Both have made it to Vegas before. Ryan's audition is amazing and we're happy he makes it to the next round again. Bianca, however, still completely lacks personality and we like her less every time we see her. She makes it to Vegas too, so we'll have to see her for at least another round.

Christopher Aguilar is apparently auditioning because he wants to produce a film. Well, that's a reach, but we're almost willing to give him the benefit of the doubt. However, it doesn't seem he'll be fulfilling his dreams any time soon- he's terrible. It's a no for Christopher.

Amber Williams is next- she tells us her mother is paralyzed. Our first reaction is to dislike her because she's got the typical sob story, but she's really good, so that makes up for it. We look forward to seeing more from her in Vegas.

After a montage of dancers making it to Vegas, we meet Christina Santana, who claims to have dragged her partner to the audition. After seeing her dance, we can see why- we wouldn't want to be seen with her either. She's so awkward, and the combination of styles just isn't good. But for some reason, the judges send her to Vegas anyway.

A montage of BAD dancers this time around- yawn. But after that, Phillip Atmore throws the best tap audition we've ever seen. We really hope he's good at other styles too, because we'd love to see him make the top 20.

More auditions next week!

So You Think You Can Dance: Finale Results

<lj:music>"Love Love Love" by Tristan Prettyman</lj:music>

Twenty minutes of filler and recaps later, it's time to start the finale! By the end of tonight's show we'll know who this season's winner is. The entire judges' panel from this season is here to commemorate the occasion, and all of the choreographers from the season are in the audience as well.

Tonight we'll be seeing the judges' favorite routines from throughout the season, and the first pick is from Adam Shankman. He chooses a Tabitha and Napoleon routine, performed by Jeanine and Phillip. Not sure this would be in our list of favorites after all the great stuff we've seen this year, but okay.

The next pick is from Nigel Lythgoe. He says he wants to see Janette and Brandon's Argentine tango again. This one was good. We're happy to see it again.

One of Debbie Allen's favorites this season was Asuka and Vitolio's waltz. We figure this is probably because they needed to get the entire top 20 in somehow. This was pretty, but a favorite? Really?

Finally, a favorite we really agree with! It comes from Mary Murphy, and it's the Travis Wall piece performed by Jeanine and Jason. This was beautiful the first time around, and it's just as good tonight.

One of Mia Michaels' favorites is the samba choreographed by Louis Van Amstel, which was performed by Kayla and Max back at the beginning of the season. This was a great routine, and since it's been such a long time, we're happy to see it again.

Turns out there's a surprise in store for the dancers. Kherington from last season escorts them to a viewing of the new movie Fame, which she stars in. We can't wait to see this!

Time for another favorite pick from Debbie Allen- and she picks a group routine. It's the one choreographed by Tabitha and Napoleon with Dmitry Chaplin. We're excited to see this again, it was so creative!

The winner of the Australian version of the show performs. Are we supposed to care?

Lil C tells us one of his favorites this season was Caitlin and Jason's Bollywood performance. Yay! This was a great one. It's just as good this time around.

Time for the axe to drop on one of the top four. Fourth place goes to... Kayla!

Adam Shankman picks one of our least favorite routines of the season- Randi and Evan's butt dance. We really don't like it any more this time around.

Mary Murphy decides to be unoriginal and make us sit through a routine we just saw last night- Jeanine and Brandon's paso doble. This was great, but we'd rather have seen something that we haven't seen for a while.

More results- third place goes to Evan.

Finally, Nigel picks our favorite routine of the season- Kayla and Kupono's addiction piece, choreographed by Mia Michaels. We're so happy to be seeing this again, it was amazing!

The Rage Boys Crew returns to perform again. The little one, TJ, shows off his missing front tooth, a result of doing a back handspring off the couch.

Tyce Diorio wants to see Janette and Brandon's disco again. Meh. This was okay, but nothing we were crazy about the first time around and our minds aren't changed tonight.

The final judges' favorite performance of the night is from Mia Michaels. Predictably, it's the breast cancer piece that Tyce choreographed and Melissa and Ade performed. This was beautiful. We've been waiting all night to see this again, and they don't disappoint.

The top 8 dancers perform a group number choreographed by Mia Michaels. They're joiend at the end by entire judges' panel... minus Lil C. Was this beneath him or something? Have we mentioned we can't stand him?

And finally, the winner is... Jeanine. Uh, well, we can't say we saw that coming. But, good for her.

Next month, a whole new season begins!

<lj:music>"Slow Me Down" by Emmy Rossum</lj:music>

The finale is mostly right, except that Melissa should be there. But anyway... copying and pasting because I'm too lazy to redo it.

By the end of tonight's episode, we'll know which four dancers are in the finale next week. We're nervous. But before that, we'll also get to see the Emmy-nominated performances from last season, as well as a performance by Sean Paul.

The show opens with a group performance choreographed by Tyce Diorio. It's pretty, but the painfully dull music nearly puts us to sleep. Oh well, it could have been much worse.

One girl will be sent to safety immediately tonight. We expect it to be Kayla since she seems to be the most obvious choice, but it turns out to be Jeanine who's the first dancer in the finale.

The first encore performance from last season is Jessica and Will's "Silence," choreographed by Tyce Diorio. We remember Jessica and Will, but we only vaguely remember this routine. And it's really boring. We're a little surprised this got nominated for an Emmy, but okay.

The next dancer to make it to the finale next week is Brandon. Rightfully so. He's our pick for the win.

Next, another encore performance from Twitch and Katee. It's "Mercy," choreographed by Mia Michaels. We really enjoyed this last year, but it doesn't seem to be quite as enjoyable this time around. It's still good, just seems to lack a bit of the spark it had last season.

Chelsie and Joshua return to perform Dmitry Chaplin's "A Los Amigos" number again. This is another one that we just barely remember. Of all the great performances last year, we're a little shocked that some of these are the ones that got nominated. We're happy for Dmitry, but... we're not all that impressed.

Time for a couple of solos. It'll be a shame if Melissa goes home after this solo, because it'd be a bad way to go out. This is so boring! Ade's, thankfully, is much better. His solos never disappoint.

Next up is a guest performance by the Jabbawockeez from America's Best Dance Crew. They weird us out, but they're so much fun to watch. They have great performance quality and excellent musicality. This is a really fun performance.

The last encore performance of the evening is Chelsie and Mark's "Bleeding Love," choreographed by Tabitha and Napoleon. This was easily one of our favorite routines last year, and we acutally think it's better this time around. This is awesome!

Kayla's solo is still boring. We're not surprised. Evan, on the other hand, never fails to entertain and tonight is no exception. We really hope he makes it to the finale.

We take a nap during Sean Paul's performance. This is not legitimately music. And it's not even entertaining to watch. The best part of it is the steam at the end. Holy crap, that was bad.

So, it's time to find out who'll be joining Jeanine and Brandon in the finale... it's Kayla and Evan! This means Melissa and Ade are going home tonight.

Next week, the final four compete for the title!

I have decided: I want Brandon to win next week. I love Evan, but I think when you look at the big picture, Brandon has earned it.

JUDGES:
Nigel Lythgoe
Mary Murphy
Lil C

TOP 3 GUYS
Style: Jazz
Choreographer: Sonya Tayek
Song: "True Romance"
10/10

JEANINE & ADE
Style: Samba
Choreographer: Louis Van Amstel
Song: "Love Game"
7/10

KAYLA'S SOLO
"You Found Me"
6/10

MELISSA & EVAN
Style: Broadway
Choreographer: Tyce Diorio
Song: "Get Me To The Church On Time"
10/10

ADE'S SOLO
"18th Floor Balcony"
9/10

KAYLA & BRANDON
Style: Contemporary
Choreographer: Stacey Tookey
Song: "All I Want"
8/10

MELISSA'S SOLO
"I Put A Spell On You"
6/10

JEANINE & ADE
Style: Hip hop
Choreographer: Tabitha & Napoleon
Song: "Move (If You Wanna)"
5/10

BRANDON'S SOLO
"O'Fortuna"
10/10

MELISSA & EVAN
Style: Quick step
Choreographer: Louis Van Amstel
Song: "As Long As I'm Singin'"
9/10

JEANINE'S SOLO
"Feedback"
7/10

EVAN'S SOLO
"Lady Is A Tramp"
9/10

KAYLA & BRANDON
Style: Disco
Choreographer: Doriana Sanchez
Song: "Dance (Disco Hall)"
8/10

TOP 3 GIRLS
Style: Jazz
Choreographer: Sonya Tayek
Song: "Kick It"
8/10

WHO I THINK SHOULD BE ELIMINATED:
Jeanine
Ade

    <lj:music>"Hold On" by B*Witched</lj:music>

Don't have the ambition to retype everything tonight, so I'm just going to post the review I did for sytycd.com.

Tonight marks the 100th episode of the show. Hard to believe it's been five seasons now. To celebrate the occasion, many of the contestants from all four past seasons are sitting in the audience.

The festivities begin with a Mia Michaels group routine. It's really good, in a creepy kind of way- which we've really come to expect from Mia's choreography. It's a great way to start the show.

After some highlights from all five seasons of the show, it's time to get down to business and find out the results for the girls. Melissa and Jeanine are safe, leaving Kayla and Janette in the bottom two.

Our first revisited performance tonight is Hok and Jaimie's hummingbird piece, choreographed by Wade Robson. Perhaps it's because we've seen it before, but we're just not all that into this. It doesn't seem as effective as it did the first time we saw it.

Now, time to learn the fate of the boys. Ade and Evan are safe, and Jason and Brandon are in the bottom two. Can't say we're not a little bit surprised to see Brandon there.

Next is one of our all-time favorite routines, the Mia Michaels bench piece performed by Travis and Heidi. God, it's good to see this again. It's so beautiful. And Travis is one of our all-time favorite dancers from the show.

Ratings for tonight's solos:
Kayla- 7/10
Jason- 7/10
Janette- 6/10
Brandon- 10/10

Finally, the moment we've been waiting for all night- an encore performance of Wade Robson's zombie routine. This time around, it features Wade himself performing with the dancers. This makes the whole show worth watching. It just never gets old!

Now it's time for the Katie Holmes performance we've been hearing about for weeks. We have to admit we weren't expecting a whole lot, but it's amazing. It's very classic Broadway, and we love it. It's also very fitting that Judy Garland's son, Joey Luft, is in the audience to see it.

The moment has arrived- time to find out who's going home. It's Janette and Jason. No big surprises, considering who they were up against.

Next week, the top 6 perform.
